Shigatse Introductions
Shigatse
Gyantse (3950m) is 254km south-west of Lhasa, one of the least Chinese influenced towns in Tibet and is worth a visit for this reason alone. The town`s principal attractions are the Gyantse Kumbum, a magnificent tiered structure that has only one ruined and remote contemporary (at Jonang, 60km north (Ceast of Lhastse ) in the Buddhist world, Pelkor Chode Monastery and the Gyantse Dzong, It is easy to spend a couple of days in Gyantse. As a 500-year-old cultural city located 3,800 meters above sea level, Shigatse is the headquarters of the Panchen Erdeni, also it`s the second largest city of Tibet, Located to the north of the world-renowned Qomolangma. There are many ancient temples in Shigatse, such as Sakya, Baiju, Shalu, and Tashihunpo, where the giant bronze statue of Buddha of Qiangba (Maitreya) is enshrined.

Palkhor Monastery  
Palkhor Monstery, also named Palcho Monastery, is very different from other monasteries. It lies about 230 kilometers (143 miles) south of Lhasa and 100 (62 miles) east of Shigatse at the foot of Dzong Hill. Built as a Tibetan monastery, its structural style is very unique.
Kumpo Pagoda  
Kumpo pagoda ,also named "Bodhi stupa" or "Kumbum" in Tibetan, which was built in 1412 and completed 10 years later. Deemed as the symbol of the monastery, the spectacular "stupa" consists of hundreds of chapels in layers, housing about a hundred thousand images of various icons. The elegant structure is worth visiting.

Tashilunpo Monastery  
It is located at the foot of Drolmari (Tara`s Mountain). Standing on the entrance of Tashilunpo, visitors can see the grand buildings with golden roofs and white walls. Besides the grand palace and gigantic statues, the Tashilunpo Monastery also has treasures of wall paintings. Because of the variety of shapes, resplendent colors and exquisite painting, the mural is considered to be another masterpiece of Buddhist art.
Mt. Everest  
Mt. Everest, also known as Mount Qomolangma, means Mother Goddess of the Universe in Tibetan. It is the highest peak in the world. Standing at 8844.43 meters (29017 feet), snow capped throughout the year, she lies at the border between China and Nepal.
