Lugu Lake is home to the Mosu minority, (China's only matriachal society) and what has to be some of China's most spectacular scenery. It's a 5 hour car ride from Lijiang travelling along some unmade roads but the journey is worth it when you get your first view of the lake and the surrounding mountains of Yunnan and Sechuan provinces. The small village by the lake has some basic accomodations and after taking a boat trip on the lake there is a beautiful Lamasary to visit.
Day 1 Chengdu-Lijiang by airplane
Meet at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, our staff will help you check in and board the plane, takes around one hour, reach Lijiang in the evening,supper self paid, overnight in Lijiang.
Day 2 : whole day bus riding to Lugu lake
After breakfast,take bus to the ¡°Eastern beauty kingdom¡±-Lugu lake, listening to Mosu girls¡¯ love songs, dance with them by the campfire after dinner, participate in the optional Jiacuo party (on your own),feel the romantic custom. stay in local residence
Day 3: Lugu lake-Lijiang
experience the ¡°log-cabin¡±,(at your own expense),visit Lama temple for a glance of the intricate Tibetan buddhism .visit local Moso families, explore the mysterious ¡°walking marriage¡± tradition( marriage represents the main marriage system of Lugu Lake¡¯s Mosuo people. There are only mothers. There is no concept of father. It should be the last matriarchal culture in the world.)
head to Lijiang after lunch, meander in the oldtown, enjoy the most relaxing life .lodge in Lijiang(dinner excluded)
Day 4: Lijiang Sightseeing
Free time after breakfast, look around the square street, cross longevity bridge,visit the oldest street of the town or you can take the bus to Jade Dragon snow mountain, Yushanping, Ganhaizi lake etc. Lodge in Lijiang
Day 5: Lijiang-Chengdu
Visit Lijiang ancient town before you leave.Enjoy the ancient,silence,traditional life again.Take the fight back Chengdu at noon.End the trip.
