| Cross Qinghai - Tibet Plateau 12-Day Overland Adventure Tour |

Covering a distance of 1937km and with an average altitude of over 4000 meters, Qinhai-Tibet Highway wriggles across Kunlun Mountain Pass (4837m) and Tanggula Mountain Pass (55231m) on Qiangtang, which means Highland in the north, from north to south crossing Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
The waving asphalt road keeps vehicle riders on it the illusion that they are going into the sky due to the hogh topography and open wildness of grassland, saline,Gobi and so on.The trip enables tourists to see Lhasa and Tsethang.
Day01: Xining-136km-Qinhai Lake (3260m)
Visit to Ta¡¯er monastery, which is not only a center of Tibetan Buddism in Qinhai, but also famous for Tibtean medicine as well as Tibetan art such as Tangkha, barbola, Yak-butter Sculpture ,woodcarving and so on
Qinhai Lake is the largest salt-water lake in China cerulean water melts into the Azure ion distance where snowy mountains stand on grass.

Day02: Qinhai Lake-293km-Chaka Saline
April to July every year, thousans of thousands of migratory birds are home at Qinhai Lake, sky hovering, water swimming or sand walking in large groups with a thundering noise that is heard tens of miles away

Day03: Chaka-484km-Golmu(2800m)
If lucky, one may behold a mirage, either on Gobi where dotted nomad tents, desert town and oasis, or on saline where crystal salt varies in forms of coral,pagoda, flower, ivory or anything one can imagine.

Day04: Golmu-420km-Totohe(4600m)
The altitude of the section is over 4500 meters, Crossing over Kunlun Mountain witnesses four seasons within one day. In a moment a sunny day will overcast and snow. One cheers up at the sight of agminate Tibtet antelopes on vast unmanned area.

Day05: Totohe-419km-Nagqu(4650m)
Nagqu grassland is between Tangglha Mountains and Gandis Mountains One is deeply touched while looking back at Mt. Geladaindong(6559m) on a golden afternoon or forward at Mt. Nyainqentanglha(7114m), the holy mountain of all northern tribes on a rosy morning.
Day06: Nagqu-308km)-Lhasa(3700m)
Sightseeing of Nam Tso, one of the three holy lakes in Tibet.
Overnight at hotel.
Day07:Lhasa Visit
Potala, the previous winter palace of Dalai Lama and Jokhang, the final destination of all sects of Tibetan Buddhism.
Day08:Lhasa visit
Drepung Monastery, the largest one in the world and Sera Monastery
Day09:Lhasa-Ganden Monastery
Ride some 60km to Ganden, the premier monastery of Geluk Sect.
Day10:Drive to Tsethang via Samye, the premier Monastery of Nynma Sect
Day11:Visit to Yumbulakhang, the first palace in Tibet history and Tantrik, where Pearl Thangkha is kept.
Day12: Departure.

Note:
1.Minor program changes sometimes are necessary, depending on road conditions, weather and availability of room.
2.Health consultation from your doctor before you come to highland (Over3000M).
3.As we travel in Tibet area where the economy is much more backward than other places, the food alternative is limited, so we suggest you take some solid food. Most of local restaurant only can offer the simple Sichuan and Tibetan dishes.
4.The temperature varies greatly and sunshine can be very strong, please bring jackets, sunburn cream, medicine for altitude sickness etc.
5.For avoiding the altitude sickness, please don`t do violent exercises, drink more water and rest as much as possible after sightseeing.
6.We suggest you don`t go outside of your hotel during the night.
7.Most of the time you will enjoy the beautiful views in the car, and the driving hours are very long in this tour.
8.Tourists should take the high plateau altitude into consideration, if unexpected accident(injury, death etc.) happened, the Insurance Company will compensate according to the regulations not our company.
9.Most places along this line are short of water, some hotels can not provide enough hot water for bathing but you won`t have problems in cleaning your mouth and face.
