Poyang Lake China’s largest freshwater lake at 3583 sqkm,Poyang Lake has been feted by poets for centurise for its tranquil atmosphere and scenery. A few historical temple /pavilion odds and ends are dotted along the shoreline,but aficionados of avian life are simply agog at the seeming millions of migrating birds that pass though here,arguably the planet’s largest migratory habitat.Over 300 species pass through the area in winter,highlighted by over 5000 white cranes of a variety of species;Poyang Lake is home to 95% of the world’s population of some of these species.
