Fuzhon National Forest Park Located in Xindian Town, JinĄŻan District, Fuzhou City, the AAAA Fuzhou National Forest Park is seven kilometers from the city center, and covers an area of 2891 hectares. The park is home to nearly 3,000 species of rare plants from China and 36 other countries; and several special botanical gardens have been set up, such as the Sutie, Palm, RarePlant, Bamboo Appreciation, Tree Appreciation and Potted landscape gardens, as well as the Banyan Scenic Zone. The Dragon Pond Scenic Zone, with a theme of forest ecotourism, is very appealing, while Fujian Forestry Museum can offer you forestry know-how and forestry achievements of Fujian. The Park is also equipped with abundant recreational facilities. With a beautiful environment, scientific connotations and unique forest recreational projects, the national forest park is an ideal tourist and holiday resort for both Chinese and foreign visitors.Yu shan Scenic Area (Yu Shan Fengjingqu) The Yu Shan Scenic Area,which has some remains of the old city wall,is one of the most pleasant places in Fuzhou.The Ming dynasty wall has been largely reconstructed and only a small portion of the original wall remains.The principle attranction in Yu Shan is the White Pagoda,built in AD904.The pagoda is 41m high and has a great view from the top.Next to Yu Shan is an imposing Mao Zedong Statue,presiding over a sea of cyclists.Yu shan Scenic Area Drum Hill is located on the northern bank of the Minjiang River in the eastern suburbs of Fuzhou, Fujian Province. The name was derived from a huge boulder in the shape of a drum at the top of the hill. The legend goes that the sound of drums can be heard in the caves of the hill whenever there is a storm. Drum Hill is the best-known scenic spot outside the city proper. There are more than 150 spots of historical interest and scenic beauty on the hill. Surging Spring Temple (Yongquansi), built more than a thousand years ago, is one of the most famous monasteries of Fujian Province. To the east of the temple are Source of Spirits Cave (Lingyuandong), the Water Sound Chamber (Tingshuizhai), and White Ape Gorge (Gaiyuanxia), where precipitous stone cliffs are carved with calligraphic inscriptions and Buddhist statues. To the west of the temple, luxuriant pines and cypresses shade the "eighteen views of Drum Hill" and White Cloud Cave (Baiyundong), and narrow paths Zigzag through the woods. Ever since the Song Dynasty, Drum Hill has been frequented by writers, high officials, and members of the nobility. Their inscriptions on the stones have proved a Valuable treasure for later generations. Having more stone inscriptions than any other place in the province, Drum Hill is also called the "forest of tablets in Fuzhou." Lin Zexu Memorial Hall (Linzexu Jinianguan) The Lin Zexu Memorial, located at Fuzhou of Fujian Province and founded in 1982 in memory of the national hero Lin Zexu of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), is a memorial of Chinese historical figure. The site of the memorial, covering an area of 3,000 square meters, used to be the memorial temple of Lin Zexu built in 1905. The main buildings inside the memorial are the Yimen Hall, Yubei Pavilion, Shude Hall, the southern and northern reception rooms, Quchi Building and Zhubai Study.With many stone inscriptions and statues, Lin Zexu Memorial is of primitive simplicity. In the memorial is a square stele kiosk with three bluestone steles. One is for decree;one for elegiac address and the last for epigraphy. They were all bestowed by the emperor when Lin Zexu died. Qingyun Mount Scenic Zone Located in Linglu Town and Chixi Town of Yongtai County, this national AAAA scenic zone and national key scenic resort is about 13 kilometers from Yongtai County and 75 kilometers from Fuzhou City. This scenic zone covers a planned area of 52.5 square kilometers and is distributed with 7 1000- kilometer tall peaks and 9 canyons & rivers. It consists of 6 scenic spots: Sky Corridor, Dragon Waterfall, White-horse Canyon, Water Screen Palace, Tree-fern Garden and Sky Pond Grassland. Qingyun Mount is located in the tropical zone of Central Asia. Featuring a warm climate and diversified forest plants, the mountain grows 183 families, 667 genus and 1,295 species, including thousands of plant species under first-class state protection (such as yew), 18 species of plants under second-class state protection (such as tree-fern), 36 species of arethusa plants and 233 species of vines. There are 216 species of spinal animals out of 61 families, including over 200 macaques (4 groups) under second-class state protection. The relic of Xiao Guoliang, the Number One Scholar of the Southern Song Dynasty, is also well protected.
